About the Movie
Oh, the "Curse" movie. One of my favorite sub-genres in the horror catelogue. While few great feature films revolve around the protagonist getting cursed (Drag Me To Hell comes to mind), there was an entire series called "Tales From the Crypt" which involved a curse in one way or another. Sure...that can be debated, but whatever. The initial idea of THERE'S A CAR COMING! was to recreate the format of Tales From the Crypt. I wanted to create a character that needed to be punished, but be sympathetic as well. I also really wanted the curse to sound all weird at first, but as the movie went on, you could tell it was coming true. I also just wanted to put a bunch of make up and shit on Corey's face.
Making the Film
DEAD LINE II: Wrong Number was such an exhilarating and rewarding experience, I'm almost thankful THERE'S A CAR COMING! was so challenging. THERE'S A CAR COMING! reminded me that I have a lot to learn in the art of film. It was during this film where I discovered rotoscoping, green screen, color correction, and After Effects. What I'm most thankful for though, is the performances by the actors. None of them consider themselves to be actors but each one did it without a second thought or a complaint; they just did it as a favor to me. Thanks guys!
